Primary Health Care Clinics
Our clinics provide essential healthcare across all communities, including maternal and child health satellite sites in New Providence. Services include routine physicals, vaccinations, chronic disease management, minor illness treatment, prenatal and postpartum care, wound dressings, and emergency support. With onsite pharmacies and home care support, these clinics ensure continuity of care even for shut-ins and nursing home residents.
Specialty & Secondary Health Clinics
Through scheduled visits by specialists such as paediatricians, OB/GYNs, and oral health professionals some clinics enhance primary care offerings. Complementing these are nutrition and mental health counseling services. Oral health revitalization is underway with full-scale expansion expected by Q2 2025.
Mental Health Clinics
Integrated within primary clinics in the Family Islands, mental health services offer early intervention and medication management. In New Providence, follow-up care is available at dedicated clinics. Collaboration with Sandilands Rehabilitation Centre ensures support for acute cases.
Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic capacity is growing across the archipelago, with community x‑ray and point‑of‑care lab systems already in service in selected clinics. These enhancements support chronic disease monitoring and aim to reduce costly emergency airlifts by enabling earlier detection and treatment.
Emergency Transport Services
Efforts are in motion to strengthen ambulance services in the Family Islands. Training programs for emergency drivers and technicians are under development in partnership with local law enforcement, ensuring swift and safe transport during medical emergencies.
School Health Services
Fifty healthcare professionals predominantly nurses are stationed in public schools across New Providence to provide student and staff healthcare services. Their work includes health screenings, on-site treatment, and health education.
Community Screening Services
Coordinated by the Non‑Communicable Disease Program, these outreach initiatives offer free screenings (hypertension, diabetes, risk factors) at community events. Screenings are linked to primary care providers, ensuring seamless referral and follow-up.
