A national survey of noncommunicable disease risk factors across The Bahamas diet, physical activity, tobacco and alcohol use, blood pressure, blood sugar, and weight conducted using the WHO's STEPwise surveillance methodology. The findings were sobering: Bahamian rates of obesity, hypertension, and diabetes now exceed the regional average, giving the Ministry of Health & Wellness the evidence base to prioritize prevention-focused strategies going forward.
