Minister of Health and Wellness, the Honourable Dr. Michael R. Darville, along with Acting Director of Public Health Dr. Phillip Swann, visited the Marsh Harbour Healthcare Centre to welcome the medical team and observe the start of this vital initiative.
In partnership with the World Cataract Foundation, Liquid Legacy, Abaco Strong, and the Ministry of Health and Wellness, this campaign is providing free cataract and pterygium surgeries from June 9 to 13.
Over 100 cataract procedures and 10 pterygium removals are expected to be completed during this mission, offering restored sight and renewed independence to dozens of Bahamians. A second surgical mission is planned for early 2026.
The Ministry remains committed to expanding access to essential healthcare services across the country through sustainable partnerships and community-centered outreach.
